Principal Educational PsychologistPermanent | South Essex | Hybrid WorkingSoulbury Scale B Points 12–15 (£72,999 - £77,184)Plus access to up to 3 additional SPA points (£78,591 - £81,425)An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and strategic Principal Educational Psychologist to lead and shape a high-performing Educational Psychology Service within a forward-thinking local authority in South Essex.About the role Lead the strategic direction and operational delivery of the Educational Psychology Service.Drive high-quality, evidence-based psychological practice across schools, settings, and wider services.Ensure effective delivery of statutory SEND responsibilities and psychological advice.Provide expert leadership on inclusion, mental health, wellbeing, and safeguarding.Develop and support a skilled Educational Psychology workforce through supervision, induction, coaching, and professional development.Work collaboratively with senior leaders and multi-agency partners to influence system-wide improvement and integrated working. About you A recognised postgraduate qualification in Educational Psychology.Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist.Significant local authority Educational Psychology experience.Extensive knowledge of SEND legislation, statutory processes, safeguarding responsibilities, and the strategic frameworks that underpin effective service delivery.Experience of leading Educational Psychology services or senior teams, including performance management, quality assurance, and service development.A strong track record of partnership working across education, health, and social care and the ability to influence strategic decision-making at a senior level.
