You will need to be able to work independently and efficiently to deliver a high quality of care to our patients. You will have the support and guidance of our excellent team of Practice Nurses and Advance Nurse Practitioners.
Previous Primary Care experience, experience in long term conditions management, relevant qualifications, experience of the SystmOne clinical system and ICE are desirable for this role.

A

experience, or a willingness to develop skills in :
Management
of LTCs - Diabetes, Coronary Heart Disease, COPD
Support
and advise women requesting information relating to family planning needs and
those presenting for cervical cytology consultations
Travel
advice and vaccinations
Routine
immunisations/Childhood immunisations
Wound
care, ulcer care and Doppler assessment
Removal
of Sutures
ECG
recordings
Ear
syringing
Chaperoning
and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another
clinician
Assisting
GPs with minor surgery and coil fittings
Requesting
pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
Following
agreed clinical protocols with referral to senior nurses or GPs as appropriate
Supporting
housebound long term condition reviews and vaccination programmes such as Covid
and Influenza
in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by senior
nursing staff and GPs
Participate in the support and
supervision of students and junior nursing staff in clinics. Referring any
concerns or development needs to their mentor or clinical service manager.
As a Practice we have around 11,500 registered patients with 4 Partners, 2 Salaried GPs, 2 Advance Nurse Practitioners, 3 Practice Nurses and a Health Care Assistant. Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
- Willingness to learn and acquire new skills
- Evidence of appropriate knowledge base
- Membership of a professional body
- Experience and / or qualifications in venepuncture, taking and interpreting blood pressures, ECG and wound care
- Ear irrigation qualification or willingness to undertake
Desirable
- Post registration study in topics allied to general practice
- Basic/advanced certificate in life support
- Experience and / or qualifications in vaccinations and immunisations
- Experience in chronic disease management or a willingness to undertake training in these areas if don't already possess qualifications
Experience

- Insight and understanding of current NHS issues in nursing and the NHS
- Interest and basic knowledge in long-term conditions
- Demonstrate an understanding of audit
