The Physiotherapy Assistant will support the Physiotherapy Team in delivering high-quality rehabilitation services to patients within inpatient rehabilitation wards and group rehabilitation programmes at Cumberland Infirmary. Working under the direction of registered Physiotherapists, the post holder will implement delegated treatment programmes, assist patients with mobility and exercise activities, support the delivery of rehabilitation groups, monitor and record patient progress, and contribute to promoting patient independence and recovery. The role also includes assisting with equipment provision, maintaining clinical areas, completing administrative tasks, and working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centred care.

Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Underpinning theoretical knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology.
- Knowledge of the multi-disciplinary team roles
- Working with people where enabling and motivating skills are evident.
- Working within a team
- Working knowledge of outlook, Microsoft word
Desirable: - Supervisory experience; - Health care work; - Working with people with physical needs
Qualifications
Essential
- GCSE English and Maths grade 4 and above
- Level 3 qualification in health or social care related subject or equivalent
- Care Certificate or the willingness and ability to undertake
Desirable: - Sports science experience
Personal Circumstances
Essential: - Able to work flexibly according to the needs of the service; - Act in ways that support equality and value diversity
Other requirements
Desirable: - Ability to travel cross sites within the Trust

- Good communication skills written & verbal
