Physiotherapist (Orthopaedics) West Middlesex Hospital SiteWe have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 physiotherapist to join the orthopaedic therap...
They will be a role model for expert clinical care, and lead on specific projects / service developments and management functions asdelegated by the Band 7 therapist or Clinical Lead Therapist.
They will role model the identified Trust values at all times.
The post holder will work as an autonomous practitioner in providing physiotherapy assessment, treatment and management to their own designated caseload of patients and to maintain up to date physiotherapy records.
They will evidence based principles and current best practise to assess, plan, implement and evaluate physiotherapy interventions.
The post holder will provide supervision, teaching and support to more junior staff, therapy assistants and students on placement.
The post holder is expected to actively participate in the 5 in 7 weekend rota and respiratory on-call rota

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
- BSc or Diploma in Physiotherapy
- HCPC registration
- Evidence of ongoing CPD since qualification
EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Relevant post registration experience at Band 5 level in core areas
- Experience of working with orthopaedic patients in the acute setting
- Experience of participation in weekend and respiratory on-call physiotherapy services
- Experience of working as part of an MDT in a collaborative way.
- Evidence of active participation in training and development.
- Evidence of appraisal, supervision and teaching of physiotherapists, assistants and students
Desirable
- Involvement and experience in audit and service development
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE - SPECIAL
Essential
- The ability to clinically reason the application of appropriate assessment and treatment techniques in the acute setting
- Knowledge of a wide range of orthopaedic and musculoskeletal conditions
- The ability to use reflective practice as a tool for growth and development
- Understands the professional and legal responsibilities of clinical practice
- Evidence of effective self-management including time, prioritisation, clinical caseload and stress
- Proven leadership and deputising skills in clinical area
- Awareness and sensitivity to cultural differences and beliefs.
- Excellent communication skills with patients, relatives, staff and external contacts, including in challenging situations, demonstrating respect and kindness.
Desirable
- Experience of fitting appliances, eg - braces and collars
