As a Peripatetic Deputy General Manager (Clinical) at Barchester Healthcare, you will travel across your region to manage and develop teams in various care homes. This role involves working closely with the General Manager or hiring manager to implement action plans ensuring resident needs are met. You will take on leadership duties in the absence of the General Manager, supporting everything from care standards to team motivation. The successful candidate will be a Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN) with current NMC registration and teaching, mentoring, or supervision qualification. Experience within a nursing home setting is essential, alongside evidence of continued professional development. You should have a successful track record in managing safeguarding investigations, clinical risk assessments, and HR experience. Furthermore, knowledge of sales, marketing, and budget management is important.

Working closely with the General Manager or hiring manager, you'll help implement action plans that make sure our resident's needs are met.
Taking on leadership duties in the absence of the General Manager, you can expect to help with everything from care standards to motivating your team. You'll inspire a multidisciplinary team to make sure they help every resident to enjoy the best possible quality of life. That means leading by example and monitoring standards through regular audits, supervised clinical practice and checking our regulatory compliance. You'll set the highest standards and draw on your skills to develop and deliver strategies that will help you achieve your goals.
ABOUT YOUTo join us as a Peripatetic Deputy General Manager (Clinical), you'll need to be a Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN) with current NMC registration and a teaching, mentoring or supervision qualification. Previous experience of working within a nursing home setting is essential and evidence of continual professional development is also required. Experience in helping residents with different health needs is important too, as is a successful track record of managing safeguarding investigations and clinical risk assessments. We'll also look for some HR experience, a strong knowledge of sales and marketing, an understanding of budget management, and a track record of supporting newly qualified nurses through preceptorship. You'll be compassionate, resilient and determined to deliver quality care in our engaging and energetic environment. Finally, due to the nature of this role, you must be flexible and willing to travel.
