As a Peripatetic Deputy Manager & Clinical Lead at Barchester, you will be responsible for traveling across your region to manage and develop teams in various care homes. Your role involves working closely with the General Manager or hiring manager to implement action plans that ensure residents' needs are met. You will take on leadership duties in the absence of the General Manager, focusing on care standards, team motivation, and ensuring every resident enjoys the best possible quality of life. Your duties include leading by example, conducting regular audits, supervising clinical practice, and ensuring regulatory compliance. You'll need to be a Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN) with current NMC registration and a teaching, mentoring, or supervision qualification. Essential experience includes working in a nursing home setting, managing safeguarding investigations, conducting clinical risk assessments, and supporting newly qualified nurses through preceptorship. Flexibility and a willingness to travel are crucial for this role.

You'll inspire a multidisciplinary team to make sure they help every resident to enjoy the best possible quality of life. That means leading by example and monitoring standards through regular audits, supervised clinical practice and checking our regulatory compliance. You'll set the highest standards and draw on your skills to develop and deliver strategies that will help you achieve your goals.

ABOUT YOUTo join us as a Peripatetic Deputy General Manager (Clinical), you'll need to be a Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN) with current NMC registration and a teaching, mentoring or supervision qualification. Previous experience of working within a nursing home setting is essential and evidence of continual professional development is also required. Experience in helping residents with different health needs is important too, as is a successful track record of managing safeguarding investigations and clinical risk assessments. We'll also look for some HR experience, a strong knowledge of sales and marketing, an understanding of budget management, and a track record of supporting newly qualified nurses through preceptorship. You'll be compassionate, resilient and determined to deliver quality care in our engaging and energetic environment. Finally, due to the nature of this role, you must be flexible and willing to travel.
