The main responsibilities of the role include
- Urgently respond to referrals and provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment at first point of contact by attending to patients, according to patients needs either in the practice or patient homes
- Support, and continue the development of, an on-the-day emergency patient service in the practice
- Accurately triage and prioritise patients, including in both emergency situations and telephone triage, demonstrating the use of a variety of techniques to elicit the history of an event/illness, including past medical and drug history
- Evaluate clinical information from examination and history taking, and initiate appropriate treatment and/or referral
- Review the effectiveness of the treatment provided, making changes where necessary to improve patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate clinical records in an efficient manner.

Core Eligibility & Experience Criteria
Essential
- Registration: Must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) with a degree-level qualification.
- Post-Qualification Experience: Must have completed mandatory 2-year "Consolidation of Learning" period as a newly qualified paramedic, plus a minimum of 3 additional years of post-qualification experience at Agenda for Change (AfC) Band 6 (or equivalent).
You will also require the following:
Essential
- Be a registered paramedic, with current HCPC registration and have post-registration experience, ideally with some being in primary care
- Be able to effectively assess, plan, treat and refer patients
- Be able to evaluate patient care confidently
- Have experience of working to protocols and guidelines
- To exhibit excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills
- Have the ability to make clear decisions with confidence and communicate these effectively
