- As an Outpatient Pharmacy Technician you will dispense medicines for patients.
- In addition, you will undertake related duties including ordering and receipt of stock, and be involved in the provision of an efficient and effective 'front of house' service for customers, including the sale of medicines. You will also need to provide support in the day to day operation of the pharmacy.
- Accuracy Checking Technicians will also be required to undertake a final accuracy check on prescriptions.

SDH Developments Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary company of Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, provides pharmacy services to patients and visitors attending the Outpatients Department at Torbay Hospital. These services continue to develop, and we are now looking for a pharmacy technician to join our team.

Knowledge & Experience
Essential
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Computer literate
- Understanding of Health & Safety Legislation and Risk Management
- Well-developed organisational, time management and planning skills; ability to organise workload and prioritise effectively
- Excellent customer service skills
- Quality-oriented; strives for continuous improvement
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Pays attention to detail
- Methodical, accurate and analytical
- Able to work effectively as part of a team
- Conscientious, motivated, reliable and resourceful
Desirable: - Understanding of the NHS and the role of Pharmacy
Qualifications & Training
Essential
- NVQ Level 3 / BTEC in Pharmacy Services (or nationally recognised equivalent qualifications)
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable: - Accuracy Checking Technician qualification
Specific Skills
Desirable: - Experience of checking complex prescriptions e.g. oncology, paediatrics
