As an Oncology Pharmacist, you will

Deliver high-quality clinical care and advice where it's needed

Offer services to a range of departments, including the pre-assessment clinic, outpatient department, ward and theatres

Participate in ward rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings

Educate patients on the proper use of prescribed medications

Conduct medication reconciliation and drug utilization reviews

Document clinical interventions and outcomes

Provide drug information and training to healthcare staff and patients

Ensure compliance with hospital policies, national regulations, and accreditation standards

Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and medication safety programs

Report adverse drug reactions and medication errors

Duties And Responsibilities

Plan, monitor and quality assure the application of technology for the provision of Chemotherapy treatment

Assess the health and well-being of patients whose needs may be complex and changing within the context of their medicines

Discuss, agree and explain responsibilities for assessment of patients with the clinical team, with specific reference to the patient's pharmaceutical needs and oncology medication

Plan, deliver and evaluate pharmaceutical care to meet patient's health and wellbeing needs

Responding to clinical and non-clinical queries

Up to £35.00 per hour, depending on experience

Duties And Responsibilities

As an Oncology Pharmacist, you will have

Strong knowledge of pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and disease management

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team

Have completed oncology pharmacist competencies as set by BOPA and Pan-London framework

-

Experience with IQEMO highly desirable

-

Be computer literate

-

Familiar with EPR systems

-

At least 2 years experience in an oncology setting

At Nuffield Health Brighton Hospital, we work with leading medical Consultants to provide first-class treatments and high standards of care for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of medical and surgical conditions using the latest facilities and technology. We take pride in delivering high standards of patient care to both private patients and the NHS. Our facilities include 44 purpose built en-suite rooms, three operating theatres and an endoscopy theatre. Other facilities include physiotherapy, Oncology, health screening, diagnostics and a dental suite. We are located in Woodingdean, on the east side of Brighton with easy access by rail and road, including free parking.
