Occupational Therapy Assistant

The successful candidate will be able to

Assist and support a comprehensive Occupational Therapy treatment program for Service Users under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.

Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and contribute to overall provision of a high quality service.

Maintain clear links with the profession's structures and your professional leads within the Trust and adhere to the professional standards and codes of conduct.

Build a collaborative relationship with Service Users that will promote engagement in the therapeutic process.

In liaison with the Occupational Therapists, to select activities appropriate to Service User needs and carry these out.

Engage with a service user to develop or maintain skills for independent living such as cooking, managing the home environment, creating an activity timetable, managing self-care, increasing exercise tolerance.

Communicate objective treatment outcomes for defined Service Users both verbally through MDT evaluations, team integration and telephone and non-verbally through documentation.

Actively engage in clinical supervision with a designated Occupational Therapist.
