Band 2 Occupational Therapy Assistant (Elderly Care) Exciting opportunity to join a compassionate and aspirational Therapy Team at the Royal Berkshire...

  • Face-to-face contact with patients, completing 'initial interviews' and information gathering with patients, their next of kin and other organisations such as social services.
  • Delivering Occupational Therapy, working with the guidance of an Occupational Therapist to rehabilitate patients through practicing and supporting activities of daily living such as, washing and dressing, meal preparation, transfers.
  • Supporting the completion of home visits with patients along side a qualified therapist.
  • Liaison with internal teams to promote smooth transition for patient from hospital to community.
  • Manual handling.
  • Personal care.

Education/Skills

Essential: - Education to GCSE level including English and Maths; - IT skills, including email; - Knowledge of Occupational Therapy

Desirable: - Understanding of hospital working; - Car driver

Experience

Essential: - Experience working with vulnerable people or customer facing role; - Previous experience in a Health or Social Care setting

Desirable: - Previous experience in therapies
