As an Occupational Therapist at Avonfield Neurological Centre, you'll become an essential part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to improving the lives of those with neurological conditions. Your role includes performing neurological assessments and interventions, facilitating cognitive rehabilitation, and ensuring high-quality care. A key part of your job will involve liaising with community colleagues to plan complex discharges and enhance patient outcomes. Additionally, you're expected to supervise support staff and students. You will be HCPC registered, passionate about working with people with neurological conditions to support their rehabilitation, condition management and maximise their quality of life.

You’ll work in partnership with residents and carers to set realistic goals and develop collaborative intervention plans, with regular reviews to monitor progress and adapt.

Working as a member of the transdisciplinary team, you’ll ensure that high quality individualised care is delivered, which ensures safety and a commitment to promoting recovery, wellbeing, and maximising independence/quality of life.

You will be familiar with the use of outcome measures such as FIM/FAM, CRS-R, WHIM and TOMS, and have experience in managing a designated caseload using knowledge of relevant Occupational Therapy theory. You’ll also have practical experience of completing assessments, planning, implementing evidence-based Occupational Therapy interventions, and evaluating outcomes aligned to care plans.

Avonfield is a homely and welcoming environment with several communal areas for socialising, set within tranquil grounds. The service offers assessment, treatment, and active rehabilitation programmes to maximise autonomy and independence, with the team working to reduce the impacts of neuro-disability associated with the neurological condition or acquired brain injury.
