- Conduct initial screening and assessment of all service users, providing intensive short-term treatment as needed.
- Manage a caseload of clients with complex Occupational Therapy needs, using evidence-based, client-centred principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions.
- Assess and prescribe appropriate equipment and aids to ensure patient safety and independence with advising staff, families, and carers as required.
- Monitor and evaluate treatment plans, collaborating with other teams within the Trust and third sector organisations when appropriate.
- Supervise and develop junior team members, including appraisal, caseload management, reviewing interventions, and delegating responsibilities.
- Role will include some cross covering of the female acute ward.
The ability to travel independently between sites within the Trust is essential for this role. Please note if you are based outside of the UK you will need to hold HCPC registration in order to be considered for this role.

Training/Qualifications
Essential: - BSc/MSc Occupational Therapy; - HCPC registration
Desirable
- Additional sensory training e.g ASI
- Evidence of mental health specific post registration training/development e.g AMPS, PSI
- Membership of RCOT may include specialist sections
Experience
Essential: - Experience of working with mental health service users in a clinical role; - Two years post graduate experience working as an Occupational Therapist
Desirable
- Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
- Experience of supervising and developing junior members of staff and students
- Experience of undertaking audit or quality improvement work
Knowledge
Essential: - Knowledge of Occupational Therapy models of practice; - Broad knowledge and application of OT in mental health
Desirable: - Ability to apply the Model of Human Occupation; - Ability to relate knowledge of physical health to mental health setting
