To be professional, legally responsible, and accountable for all aspects of your work, including the management of patients in your care. To ensure a high standard of clinical care for the patients under your management, and support other staff to do likewise.
with a complex neuro-musculoskeletal presentation, using investigative and analytical skills, formulating individualised management and treatment plans, using advanced clinical reasoning, and utilising a wide range of treatment skills and options to formulate a specialised programme of care.
To respect staff/patient confidentiality at all times and not divulge staff information unless sanctioned by the requirements of the role.
To provide spontaneous and planned advice, teaching, and instruction to the wider Trust employees and other professionals, to promote understanding of the aims of physiotherapy, and to ensure a consistent approach to patient care.
To provide specialist advice, teaching and training to other members of the MDT regarding the physiotherapy management of patients with a musculoskeletal disorder.
To train, supervise and performance manage students when appropriate. This will include the use of formal appraisal documentation.
Carry out assessment and treatment of patients with moderate physical effort on a daily basis.
The job may involve occupational exposure to verbal and physical aggression.

Qualifications and Training
Essential
- HCPC Registration
- Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
- Evidence of relevant post graduate courses/CPD
- Demonstrate more advanced and competent practice within musculoskeletal services
Desirable
- Evidence of relevant post graduate courses/CPD i.e. ergonomics, DSE Assessment skills/ specialist MSK training courses
Knowledge and Skills
Essential
- Ability to comprehend and work within the Trust policies of Data Protection, Fraud, Opportunities, Health and Safety, in meeting the differing needs of the patients.
- Understanding the legal responsibilities of the profession
- Excellent knowledge of musculoskeletal conditions, assessments and treatments.
- Ability to pass on skills/knowledge to others within both formal and informal environments.
- Able to work collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary team.
- Able to carry out moderate to intense physical effort throughout the working day and carry out concurrent activities.
Desirable
- Ability to provide detailed reports making recommendations where appropriate
Experience
Essential
- Excellent knowledge of physiotherapy in the relevant area
- Understanding of clinical governance and its implications for services including experience of quality issues and audit.
- NHS Experience in an MSK Outpatient setting
