We have a busy tertiary level three neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) with close links to the other UCLH specialist hospitals and Great Ormond Street Hospital. Currently we care for 21 intensive / high dependency care babies, 11 special care babies and 12 transitional care cots.
1. To work according to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and relevant professional guidelines as a named nurse (or key worker) for a defined group of patients and take responsibility for:o ensuring provision of a high standard of holistic, patient-centred careo assessing nursing care and health education needso development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care including discharge planning for each patient2. To be responsible for the organisation and management of the department, including the supervision of students, induction of new staff, introduction of equipment and training needs of the team.

Knowledge and Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Nurse Part 1, 2 or relevant section of the register
- Supervisor and Assessor course
- Formal Neonatal Training
- .BSc or working towards
- PG cert in health education or working towards
Desirable: - NVQ assessor
Experience
Essential: - Relevant clinical experience at Band 6
Desirable: - Relevant clinical experience at level 3 NNU care; - Practice facilitator experience
