As a CDDFT Midwife, you will

be committed to delivering safe, family centred care, promoting positive

outcomes for mothers and babies, and upholding the standards set by the Nursing

and Midwifery Council (NMC).

There is significant emphasis on

multi-disciplinary working and the ability to work as an individual as well as

a team member.

You will be responsible for the planning, implementation and

evaluation of individualised care plans which ensure delivery of holistic, evidence-based

care which prioritises communication, informed consent and relationship

building. You will work closely with our wider multi-disciplinary team of

professionals.

Some of your duties will be

Assessing and advising on the needs of women, birthing

people and families.

Providing emotional support during all stages of pregnancy,

labour and postnatal care.

Planning, delivering and evaluating standards of

evidence-based midwifery care.

Identifying and caring for women with more complex

pregnancies.

Providing interventions and key messages around Public

Health including infant feeding

Recognising deterioration in the in the physical

or mental condition of a patient and taking appropriate action/ escalation and

managing emergencies.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
