Undertake nursing assessments
as part of the multidisciplinary autism/ADHD diagnostic pathway.
Deliver evidence-based
interventions and care plans for children and young people with
neurodevelopmental conditions and mental health needs.
Support families and carers
with psychoeducation, strategies and signposting to wider support.
Support and monitor medication
where prescribed, working within shared care arrangements and closely with
prescribers.
Liaise with schools, social
care, paediatrics and voluntary sector organisations to coordinate holistic
support.
Contribute to safeguarding
processes in line with Trust and statutory guidance.
Support young people through
key transitions, including into adult services.
Maintain accurate clinical
records and contribute to pathway development and audit.

Qualifications
Essential
- RMN or RNC registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), registration must be maintained throughout employment.
- Enhanced DBS check with children's barred list (required for post).
- Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to child neurodevelopmental care
Experience
Essential
- Registered Mental Health or Children's Nurse (RMN/RNC) with current NMC registration.
- Experience of or a genuine interest in working with children and young people, ideally within CAMHS or a neurodevelopmental setting.
- Understanding of, or willingness to develop knowledge of, autism and ADHD presentations in children and young people.
- Experience of safeguarding practice and working within statutory children's frameworks.
- Strong communication and family-engagement skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across health, education and social care.
Desirable
- An Independent/Supplementary Prescribing qualification would be highly beneficial candidates working towards this, or willing to undertake the training, are also very welcome to apply.
- Specific training in autism/ADHD diagnostic assessment tools (e.g. ADOS-2, ADI-R, QbTest).
- Experience of working within a multi-agency CAMHS neurodevelopmental pathway.
- Experience delivering parent/carer psychoeducation groups.
