We require an RMN/clinician who can bring their own professional expertise to a fast-paced team, and who is confident in managing risk in the least restrictive way. By its nature, crisis work requires professionals who have a broad range of skills including being skilled mental health assessors with a proven ability to signpost service users towards the most effective treatment pathways.
Crisis can manifest with a range of needs as you have a background in mental health nursing, we want you to use your skills as part of a team to develop individualised care packages for our service users and their families.
Service Users access a crisis response in a variety of ways, ranging from referrals from their GP and attendance at an emergency department, to when they need care in the community and are seen by the police and our street triage teams. The aim of the Urgent Care Pathway is to bring together all those access points under one team, including:
- Psychiatric Liaison
- Overnight Response Team
- Assessment Teams
- Health Based Places of Safet

Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Nurse (Mental Health)
- Teaching and assessing qualification relevant to the profession
Desirable
- Management qualification
Skills
Essential
- Evidence of post registration development
- To show evidence of sound problem solving skills
- Experience of using I.T. systems and software and to be IT literate
Desirable
- Advanced Assessment Skills
- Community work with people with mental health needs
- To have awareness of National and local issues concerning mental health
Experience
Essential
- Experience of working independently
- Experience of working with other disciplines within a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable
- Experience of undertaking audit work
- To have a good knowledge of community services
