Mental Health Assistant to join their supportive team as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Mental Health Assistant to provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils experiencing a range of emotional, social, and mental health needs, including anxiety, low mood, SEMH, emotional regulation difficulties, and challenging behaviour. This Mental Health Assistant role will involve:

Providing tailored 1:1 and small group support to pupils with mental health and emotional needsHelping pupils to develop emotional regulation and positive coping strategiesSupporting pupils experiencing anxiety, low mood, and social or emotional difficultiesBuilding positive and trusting relationships with pupilsEncouraging pupils to engage positively with learning and school lifeHelping to create a calm, safe, and nurturing learning environmentWorking closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and other professionalsSupporting pupils to develop confidence, resilience, independence, and social skillsASAP startWell-connected Newbury location with good public transport links If you have previous experience working with children or young people, particularly within mental health, education, youth work, care, or a similar setting, we would love to hear from you. Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or emotional needs is desirable, but a caring personality, resilience, and willingness to learn are equally important for this Mental Health Assistant position.
