a.

Typing

letters, reports and associated documentation as required

b.

Liaising

with external agencies such as hospitals and community services, ensuring

referrals are processed efficiently

c.

Manage

all enquires in an effective manner

d.

Maintain

an accurate referrals database

e.

Process

calling letters as requested

f.

Scanning

of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients

healthcare records

g.

Input

data into the patients healthcare records as necessary

h.

Process

referrals using the electronic referral system (ERS)

i.

requests for information i.e. SAR, insurance / solicitors letters and DVLA

forms

j.

Read

code data on Emis Web system

k.

Answer

incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request

appropriately

Manage

all administrative queries as necessary

Support all clinical staff with general

administrative tasks as requested

be responsible for undertaking a wide range of secretarial and administrative

duties and the provision of administrative support to the multidisciplinary

team. Duties can include but are not

limited to, the processing of information (electronic and hard copy) in a

timely manner, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external

agencies such as secondary care and community service providers in accordance

with current policies, including the use of the electronic referral service

(ERS).

Induction Training

On arrival at the

practice all personnel are to complete a practice induction programme; this is

managed by the Management team.

staff are equipped with the appropriate skills, knowledge, attitude and competences

to perform their role. All staff will be required to partake and complete

mandatory training as directed by the training coordinator, as well as

participating in the practice training programme. Staff will also be permitted (subject to

approval) to undertake external training courses which will enhance their

knowledge and skills, progress their career and ultimately, enable them to

improve processes and service delivery.

staff will be provided with a uniform whilst clinical staff must dress in

accordance with their role.

staff are afforded the opportunity to take a minimum of 27 days leave each

year, and should be encouraged to take all of their leave entitlement.

Darwen Healthlink is a high QOF achiever and we use Emis Web Clinical System, Lexacom, Remote Access and Iplato. Our patient list size is currently over 15,000 patients and we are located in a modern multipurpose Health Centre with a variety of Community based healthcare providers within the building such as Treatment Rooms, Dental, Podiatry, MSK, Audiology and have an onsite Community Pharmacy. The Health Centre is located just off Junction 4 of the M65 providing easy access to the Motorway networks

4 GP Partners, a management team, 3 Salaried GP's, 2 Clinical Pharmacists, 1 Pharmacy Technician, 1 Mental Health Practitioner, 5 Practice Nurses 1 Healthcare Assistant and a Phlebotomist; all of which are supported by an effective and professional administrative team who have been provided with a high standard of training which includes workflow optimisation, care navigation, medication support and customer care.

Qualifications

Essential: - Educated to GCSE level or equivalent

Desirable: - GCSE Mathematics & English (C or above); - NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care
