Medical SecretaryCentral LondonUp to £35,000 per annum We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Medical Secretary to join a new private specialist clinic opening in Central London, providing dedicated support to the clinical team as the practice launches. This is a permanent, full-time position working

37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. In return for your efforts, you will receive a competitive salary of up to £35,000 per annum, 25 days annual leave plus public holidays, a staff travel loan, and a pension scheme. Full training and induction will be provided. This is a varied role combining medical typing, diary management, patient correspondence and referral coordination, and would suit someone with strong medical terminology knowledge who enjoys working closely with clinicians and patients. Duties include:

Providing dedicated secretarial support to consultants, including audio and copy typing of clinic letters, reports and other clinical correspondenceManaging and coordinating consultants' diaries, clinics and appointment schedulesProcessing referrals and liaising with GPs, hospitals and other healthcare providers regarding patient care and resultsDistributing clinic letters and reports to patients and healthcare providers in a timely mannerCoordinating and booking investigations, procedures and admissions as instructed by the clinical teamRegistering and onboarding patients onto the clinic's electronic patient record systemActing as a point of contact for patients, handling enquiries regarding appointments, treatments and pricingMaintaining accurate, confidential patient records in line with GDPR and data protection policiesProcessing payments, insurance claims, authorisations and invoices as requiredPreparing correspondence, minutes and documentation for the clinical team The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Medical Secretary or in a similar medical administration role, along with familiarity with private healthcare practices and procedures. Strong IT skills, including experience with appointment management systems and digital dictation software, are essential, as is excellent attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Candidates should be educated to GCSE level or equivalent, including Mathematics and English. This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.BSR Health are a Specialist Healthcare Agency.
