Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hard working Medical Receptionists to join our friendly team based across our two sites at the heart of Redhill...

The main responsibilities of this role include dealing with patient enquiries face to face, over the telephone and through our interactive website. A high level of customer service skills are required and as well as clear communication with GPs and other healthcare professionals to ensure that a safe and efficient service is provided to our patient population is vital. Daily administrative tasks will include booking appointments, prescription management, registering new patients, managing emails and and internal electronic tasks via our clinical system. Managing appointment requests and queries via our interactive website is a key part of this role as this is the main route of communication between patients and the practice. Opening and closing the surgery in line with our security protocols and maintaining oversight of the waiting room are other key responsibilities. EMIS Web is our clinical I.T system and Accurx is used as our digital messaging platform. Full training will be provided as part of the induction process.

Purpose

As

part of a team, to achieve a smooth running and efficient surgery for both GPs

and patients and to provide all necessary administrative support required by

the Practice

Prime

Objectives

To

provide an efficient and professional reception service during surgeries and

clinics

To

ensure that all record keeping, both manual and computerised, is accurate and up

to date

To

respect patient confidentiality at all times

Main

Running

the appointment and associated IT systems accurately and to maximise use of

available time

Repeat

prescribing as directed by the doctors

Dealing

with queries by reference to both computerised and manual records

Clerical

work related to the reception function

Opening

and closing premises, ensuring readiness for use and security out of hours

Other

such duties as required for the smooth running of the practice

Moat House Surgery is a GP practice based in the heart of Merstham, representing one of the three sites which make up The House Partnership between Greystone House Surgery in Redhill, The Moat House Surgery in Merstham and Caterham Valley Medical Practice in Caterham.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of a patient/customer facing role
  • Ability to work in a diverse team
  • Strong I.T skills

Desirable

  • Experience of safeguarding processes

Qualifications

Essential

  • GCSE A to C in English and Maths or equivalent
