New Street & Netherton Group Practice is looking to recruit a full time medical receptionist to join our friendly experienced team. The position offer...

To carry out a range of reception and administrative tasks

in relation to the day-to-day running of the practice's reception service.

Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the

appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient way.

Provide general assistance to the practice team and project

a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person

or via the telephone.

These duties will be carried out at both our Milnsbridge and

Netherton sites.

The following are the core responsibilities of

the Receptionist. There may be, on

occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependent upon

Factors such as workload and staffing levels

a.

Maintain

and monitor the practice appointment system

b.

Process

personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments

c.

Answer

incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request

appropriately

d.

Signpost

patients to the correct service

e.

Initiating

contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and

external agencies

f.

As

required support in the management of repeat prescriptions, ensuring they are

processed accurately and efficiently

g.

Clinically

code data on SystmOne

h.

Photocopy

documentation as required

i.

Data

entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as

required

j.

Input

data into patients healthcare records as necessary

k.

Action

patient correspondence as necessary

l.

Scan

patient related documentation and attach scanned documents to patients

healthcare records

m.

Direct

requests for information, i.e., SAR, insurance/solicitors letters and DVLA

forms to the administrative team

n.

Manage

all queries as necessary in an efficient manner

o.

Carry

out system searches as requested

p.

Maintain

a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times

q.

Monitor

and maintain the reception area and notice boards

r.

Complete

opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota

s.

Order

and monitor stationery supplies

t.

Support

all clinical staff with general tasks as requested

New Street & Netherton Group Practice serves our

population of 8,500 patients across two sites based in Milnsbridge and

Netherton. The care and wellbeing of our patients is at the core of everything

we do, which is reflected in the compliments we receive from our patients.

We are a forward thinking, dynamic team led by our two GP

Partners. Our clinical team consists of GPs, Advanced Practitioners, Nurses and

Healthcare Assistants, supported by our secretarial and admin teams. We also

work alongside physiotherapists, social prescribers, pharmacists and mental

health support workers who are aligned with us from The Viaduct PCN.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working with the general public
  • Experience of administrative duties

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting
  • Experience of using a patient records system ideally SystmOne

Qualifications

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
