Greet and direct patients and visitors
Make appointments using the Care Navigation Templates.
Deal with Patient queries both face to face and over the telephone in a kind and professional manner
Take requests for prescriptions
Collect payments from patients for non NHS services
Sort and date stamp all incoming patient related mail
Scan, action and code patient related documents onto their medical records, ensuring any such documents are forwarded to the appropriate clinician for action
Deal with a wide variety of Administrative tasks
Making appointments and using the Care Navigation Templates to navigate the patient to the most appropriate care
Taking requests for prescriptions
Giving out results
Ambulance transport bookings
Home visit requests
Deal with general enquiries and complaints both over the phone and face to face
Various Medical Secretarial duties
Collect payments from patients for non-NHS services
Deal with a wide variety of complex Administrative duties
Scan, action and code incoming mail and allocate to the most appropriate person for actioning
We are looking for a full time Medical Administrator to join our team at Pelton & Fellrose Medical Group. The ideal candidate should be able to work as part of a team or on their own, show initiative and have a flexible approach of working. They will be required to support both Clinical and Non Clinical staff, be comfortable talking on the telephone, dealing with patients face to face, carry out a wide variety of complex administrative duties.
Qualifications
Essential
- Good standard of general education - Grades A-C, 5-9 English and Maths.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- IT Skills
- Clear, polite telephone manner
- Time management and the ability to work to deadlines
Desirable
- Experience of working in General Practice
- Knowledge of SystmOne
