- Accurately
read-coding data on EMIS Web into the patient record
- Identifying
relevant clinical information documented in patient correspondence, coding
appropriately and completing any detailed actions
- Input
and extract data as required to support practice reports
- File
and store records as required
- Photocopy
documentation as required
- Action
all incoming faxes, emails and mail in a timely manner
- Scanning
of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients
healthcare records
- Input
data into the patients healthcare records as necessary
- Answer
incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request
appropriately
- Carry
out system searches as requested
- Maintain
a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
- Support
all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested
Please note, that we will only consider candidates with at least one year GP administration experience.
NSMC is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated and well-organised clinical coder to join our established team of clinical coders and scanners. Knowledge of EMIS Web clinical system is desirable but not essential and training will be provided. Travel may be a requirement of this role between two practice sites and to attend meetings, training etc. .
North Street Medical Care is the
largest general practice in Havering and operates from two sites with 21,500
patients. The partnership has five GP partners. NSMC is a forward thinking,
innovative, training practice with a high level of quality clinical care with
excellent QOF and long-term condition results. Our dedicated multidisciplinary
clinical team includes General Practitioners, ANP, Practice Nurses, Health Care
Assistants and Clinical Pharmacists with a supportive, committed administrative
team.
Qualifications
Desirable
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
- GCSE Mathematics & English (C or above) or equivalent
- NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care
Experience
Essential
- Experience of working with the general public
- Experience of administrative duties
- Experience of working in a health care setting
- Experience of working in a general practice setting
Desirable
- Good knowledge of medical terminology
- EMIS user skills
- Experience of working in a health care setting
- Experience of working in a general practice setting
- Flexibility to work outside of core office hours
