Working under the direction of registered nursing and midwifery staff, you will provide hands-on care and support to babies and their families, including:
- Supporting infant feeding, including breastfeeding and expressing breast milk.
- Monitoring and recording observations and recognising changes in a baby's condition.
- Supporting babies receiving specialist treatments such as oxygen therapy, blood glucose monitoring, Nasogastric tube insertion and feeding and phototherapy.
- Providing practical and emotional support to parents and families.
- Assisting with admissions, transfers and discharge planning.
- Contributing to a welcoming, safe and caring environment for babies and families.
We are seeking caring and motivated individuals who:
- Hold a Level 4 qualification or have equivalent experience at this level.
- Have experience working in a healthcare or caring environment.
- Demonstrate kindness, compassion and a commitment to family integrated care.
- Communicate effectively and sensitively with babies, parents, families and colleagues.
- Enjoy working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Are able to work independently within their scope of practice whilst recognising when to seek support.

Experience
Essential: - Experience in a caring capacity / healthcare setting
Desirable: - Experience within perinatal services
Qualifications & Knowledge
Essential: - Appropriate Level 4 qualification or relevant experience to this level
Skills and Attributes
Essential
- Understands the basic physiology, e.g. normal vital signs, fluid balance, nutritional requirements
- Able to demonstrate a positive, caring and compassionate attitude
- Good communication skills, verbal and written
- Able to organise self to achieve delegated task
- Able to demonstrate a positive, caring and compassionate attitude to all clients, and members of staff in a calm manner
Desirable: - Welsh Language Skills are desirable levels 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking, reading and writing in Welsh.
