- Liaiseswithmembersoftheteamwithintheward/department,to ensurecareisdeliveredtothepatientbotheffectivelyandefficiently.
- Updatesregisteredstaffinatimelymannerofanydeteriorationofthepatient'sclinicalcondition.
- Maintainsconfidentialitythroughout allcommunication.
- Maintainseffectivecommunicationsbetweenpatients,theirrelatives/carersandtheteamwithin thedepartmentunderthe directionofaregisteredmidwife.
- Welcomingpatientsandtheirrelativestotheward/department.
- Awareness and understanding of patient-by-patient passports around care needs,supportinganddemonstrating1:1/enhancedcaresupervisionusingtactandempathy, supporting communication through alternative meansi.e.picture boards,whiteboardsor other.Alwaysproviding patientreassurance.

Education, Qualifications, and Training
Desirable
- Care Certificate/working towards
- Level 2 or Level 3 (NVQ) in health and Social Care or equivalent relevant experience
- Willing to work towards Level 2 functional skills (Math & English)
Experience
Essential: - Experience of working with people, ideally in a front-line customer service role.
Desirable: - Experience of providing person centred care.
Knowledge, Skills, and competence
Essential
- An understanding of the importance of patient confidentially and privacy.
- Recognise how patients and colleagues need to be treated with dignity and respect and can demonstrate these behaviours in their daily work.
- Good verbal and written English communication skills.
- The ability to respond with kindness and humanity to patients.
- A flexible and adaptable approach with the aptitude to work in a busy hospital healthcare setting.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety with an awareness of the importance of following Trust policies and procedures.
