The role will be responsible for the following:
- Accounts Receivable
- Accounts Payable
- Cash / treasury management
- VAT - analysis, reconciliation and returns to HMRC
- Reconciliations for all areas of responsibility, including preparation of relevant working papers
- Staff line management
- Experience of large integrated financial systems
- Resolving complex queries and issues
- Cross cover within the corporate finance team
- Key responsibility for taking leadership in their delegated areas of responsibility. They will also support senior colleagues to provide a comprehensive service to the directorate, and internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in providing key stakeholders with current and forecasted financial information and advice to enable them to meet their financial duties.
- Maintain robust control records and establishment records.
- Ensure all financial information provided is timely, accurate and relevant and is produced in accordance with the relevant reporting timetable.
- Deputise for senior staff members as required.

The ICB is responsible for ensuring that high quality and safe health services are accessible to all of our communities. It has a wide range of functions, including; promoting integration of health and care services, improving peoples health and well-being, reducing health inequalities.
With a £6.6 billion budget and a workforce of 170,000 people across the North East and North Cumbria. As well as strategic functions, ICB staff also work at place level with local health and wellbeing boards in each of our 14 local authority areas. These teams also work alongside our 67 primary care networks which are groups of local GP practices, social care teams and other community- based area providers.
The ICB works with our Provider Collaborative too, this includes the 11 NHS Foundation Trusts in the region, to deliver our shared priorities.
Qualifications
Essential
- AAT Level 4 / Part Qualified Accountant or equivalent to degree level or equivalent experience.
- Evidence of continuing personal and professional development.
Experience
Essential
- Experience of staff management.
- Experience and expertise of large integrated financial systems, processes and controls and dealing with large volumes of data in analysis.
- Experience of working autonomously with confidential and sensitive information.
Desirable
- Experience of dealing with external agencies and audit
