We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Lead Pharmacist, Clinical Trials to join the University Hospitals Tees Research team. This excitin...

Responsible for the management, implementation and development of the pharmacy clinical trials service within University Hospitals Tees.

Ensure full compliance with current legislation, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and all other relevant medicines regulations and ethical requirements.

Liaise with appropriate University Hospitals Tees groups and committees in matters relating to clinical trials

Responsible for ensuring that the feasibility assessment and set up of new trials is completed, including ensuring sufficient capacity to participate in the implementation of this work.

Liaise effectively with all sponsors, relevant parties and stakeholders regarding the initiation, maintenance, closure and archiving of all clinical trials.

Participate in local and national clinical trial network to develop new contacts and ensure best practice applies to the service.

Provide support to the Research and Development Department in relation to Trust Sponsored and Chief Investigator led studies and grant applications.

Work collaboratively as part of University Hospitals Tees Research, providing advice and support to research and development and pharmacy colleagues as appropriate.

Knowledge & Skills

Essential

  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Participation in clinical audit and service improvement projects
  • Participation in training of staff
  • Analytical and judgmental skills
  • Report writing

Qualifications and Training

Essential

  • Registered Pharmacist with GPhC
  • Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy, or working towards this qualification
  • Evidence of up to date GCP training or ability to undertake as soon as possible once in post
  • Master's Degree in Pharmacy (or equivalent)

Desirable

  • Certificate in Pharmacist Independent Prescribing
  • Post-graduate Management Qualification

Experience

Essential

  • Significant previous experience as a hospital pharmacist
  • Relevant experience in a Hospital Pharmacy lead role
  • Computing experience with ability to use Microsoft Office programs
