Job description
Come and join one of the UKs largest providers in complex care. We proudly employ over 4000+ people - no matter what your experience, we have jobs for...
This is an exciting opportunity for an Occupational
Therapist with a strong background in neurorehabilitation to provide clinical
leadership to the OT team, while continuing to deliver high-quality,
evidence-based rehabilitation to patients with complex neurological needs.
As Lead Occupational Therapist, you will provide leadership
to the Occupational Therapy team and play a key role within the wider MDT,
supporting the Head of Therapies to develop and deliver an effective,
innovative OT service.
You will have the opportunity to influence service
development and strategy, support the development of junior therapists and
students, and help shape best practice across the service.
Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you will
maintain a clinical caseload and provide specialist occupational therapy
assessment and intervention, helping patients regain as much functional ability
and independence as possible.
If you are an experienced Occupational Therapist with a
passion for neurorehabilitation and are ready to take on a genuine clinical
leadership opportunity, we would love to hear from you.
As part of our transition to Active Neuro, the therapy service is evolving into a seven-day model of care to better support the rehabilitation needs of our clients. As a result, occasional pre-arranged weekend working will be required. You will also be expected to work Bank Holidays as required by the service, with enhanced pay provided in line with company policy.
- Providing clinical leadership, supervision and support to the Occupational Therapy team, including Band 6 therapists, assistants and students.
- Supporting the Head of Therapies with the ongoing development of the OT service and wider therapy strategy.
- Completing comprehensive occupation-based and occupation-focused assessments.
- Developing and delivering innovative, evidence-based interventions underpinned by neuroplasticity and motor re-learning principles.
- Supporting safe and timely discharge planning, including community assessments, home visits and home access assessments.
- Prescribing and providing appropriate equipment throughout the rehabilitation journey.
- Completing robust risk assessments and developing and reviewing care plans.
- Working as part of a highly collaborative MDT to assess, formulate and plan individualised rehabilitation programmes.
- Acting as a Key Worker, coordinating therapeutic programmes to achieve agreed rehabilitation goals.
- Supporting and educating patients, families and carers around acquired brain injury and the role of Occupational Therapy.
- Developing and delivering in-service education and training to the wider MDT.
- Contributing to service development, including the OT provision within the outpatient service.
The role offers a balance of clinical practice, leadership, supervision and service development, making it an ideal opportunity for an experienced OT ready to broaden their leadership responsibilities.
We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist who has a strong background in neurorehabilitation and/or working with people with neurological impairment.
You will be confident working with patients who may present with complex physical, cognitive, emotional and behavioural needs, and be able to build effective relationships with patients, their families and colleagues.
