Lead Nurse for Anaesthetics, Critical Care & Theatres (ACCT)

o Support the Head of Nursing/Care Group Nurse Director in workload management, workforce planning and modernisation for the nursing profession. Ensure that nurse staffing level meets the requirements of the All Wales Nurse Staffing Act and service specific standards and guidelines.

o Responsible for monitoring effective deployment of the nursing resource to maintain quality and safe patient care using professional judgement and triangulated methodology.

o Deputise for the Head of Nursing/Care Group Nurse Director when required, undertaking any responsibilities, as delegated.

o Upholds corporate governance by exercising prudent financial management of temporary staffing replacement ensuing there are robust systems and processes are in place to authorise the use of temporary staffing replacement.

o Provide professional support to the Clinical Service Group Manager.

o Line management of senior nursing staff within area of jurisdiction.

o Support the Head of Nursing/Care Group Nurse Director in the recruitment of nursing staff and in the plan to retain staff across the scope of responsibility.

o Take a lead in managing employee relations, sickness absence, annual appraisal, critical incidents, revalidation requirements and conduct for staff within area of jurisdiction.
