The successful candidate will be organised, proactive and customer-focused, with excellent communication and organisational skills. They will be comfortable working both independently and as part of a busy team, managing a varied workload and responding to changing priorities.
This role requires a strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service and building effective working relationships with colleagues, suppliers and stakeholders across the organisation. You will play an important role in ensuring that procurement supports the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care by providing a professional, efficient and value-for-money service.
The post holder will report to the Buying Team Supervisor and will be supported through structured training and development to build the skills and knowledge required for a successful career in NHS procurement.

Education and Training
Essential: - NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience; - GCE AS / A level or equivalent experience; - 5 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English
Knowledge and Skills
Essential
- Good numeric and literacy (oral and written communication) skills
- Ability to prioritise work and to be able to meet deadlines
- Basic Data Analysis
- IT Literate
- Successful preparation & production of documents
- Good interpersonal skills
- Excellent Telephone Manner
- Understanding of purchasing requirements
Desirable: - Good negotiation skills; - Good report writing skills; - NHS Knowledge; - Understanding of Health & Safety Regulations
Experience
Essential: - Previous customer service experience
Desirable: - Previous NHS experience
