The Information Governance Manager will be responsible for supporting the Director of Corporate Affairs to maintain the highest levels of information governance by acting as the expert source of advice and expertise in IG for the Trust and for ensuring that systems and process are in place to ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements relating to Information Governance. They will also be responsible for driving the development of a records management function within the organisation.

Qualifications
Essential
- First degree and on-going professional development through short courses or self-study
Desirable
- Recognised Information Security and Records Management qualification
Experience
Essential
- Interpreting and applying legislation and statutory requirements.
- Experience of working with senior staff in a large diverse organisation in an Information Governance capacity.
- Experience of reviewing contracts with third party organisations to ensure they contain adequate data protection clauses.
- Experience of conducting data privacy impact assessments where necessary and ensure the Trust adheres to the privacy by design initiatives set out by the ICO
- Experience of putting in place records management policies and driving the development of effective records management practices.
- Working knowledge of the requirements of the Data Protection Act 2018/GDPR and any relevant statutory provisions and any related legislation
Desirable
- Experience of IT Project Management
- Experience in training staff in technical subjects such as information governance, data protection etc.
- Working knowledge of other relevant legislation in relation to Records Management
Experience
Essential
- Previous relevant experience in a corporate governance environment
- Extensive administrative or management experience at a senior level
- Experience of servicing high level committees and taking minutes
- Experience of providing a service to customers and encountering challenging and difficult situations
Desirable
- Experience of working in the NHS
