Hsdu Endoscopy Technician

1. To work in accordance with Departmental Policy, Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Management System.

2. To reprocess reusable medical devices under supervision; disassemble, clean, disinfect, check, assemble, sterilize, despatch and track in a controlled environment.

3. To reprocess endoscopes using high level disinfection involving packing, storage and dispatch.

4. To operate washer disinfectors, AER washers, Dryer cabinets and Sterilisers including loading machines, checking detergents, maintaining records as required.

5. To report any faulty instruments or equipment to Supervisor.

6. To maintain accurate records involved in production.

Education

Essential: - Literate and numerate (Read & Write)

Desirable: - Equivalent to GCSE in English and Maths

Knowledge

Desirable: - Knowledge of surgical instrumentation/ flexible endoscopes; - Knowledge of surgical instrumentation/ flexible endoscopes

Experience

Essential: - Working under pressure and at speed; - Keeping a high standard of cleanliness.

Essential: - Shift work and overtime; - Flexible in approach to duties and prepared to work reasonable extended hours weekends and bank holidays and on-call
