Maternity Unit WCH Housekeeper 30 hrs permanent. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic housekeeper who wants to work as part of a dedicated ...

Work under supervision of the Labour Ward Coordinators/Registered Midwives as part of the unit team to maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment for patients, visitors and staff.

Serve patient meals and hot and cold beverages at the scheduled times, adhering to food hygiene regulations. Assist with feeding patients as deemed appropriate by qualified nursing staff.

Monitor and maintain high standards of cleaning and hygiene standards of ward kitchen (including fridge and microwave) and treatment/stock/staff rooms, ensuring all equipment/utensils and surfaces are clean at all times, eg discarding out of date food, stock rotation.

Qualifications

Essential: - Good standard of general education; - Food safety/hygiene certificate

Desirable: - NVQ 1 in hotel services/food service or equivalent or equivalent experience

Experience

Essential: - Previous experience of working in a customer service/caring environment

Desirable: - Experience of housekeeping/domestic duties; - Acute hospital work; - Health care work.

Knowledge

Essential: - Basic food hygiene; - Infection prevention

Desirable: - Knowledge of cleaning/COSHH; - Knowledge of systems and processes, eg manual handling, fire safety

Skills

Essential

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal.

  • Able to work well within a multi-disciplinary team.
