  • To assist in monitoring and maintaining cleaning standards, conducting regular cleaning quality audits of allocated areas in accordance with the National Standards of Cleanliness Framework.
  • To carry out cleaning to ensure spillages are dealt with quickly and efficiently.
  • To ensure specialist cleaning of surfaces and furnishings.
  • To ensure isolation nursing areas are cleaned appropriately.
  • To ensure that staff have adequate materials and that they are of correct type for the job, complying with cleaning schedules, ensuring all cleaning materials and protective clothing provided are used in the correct manner.
  • To ensure that all alcohol gel dispensers, paper towels and soap for hand hygiene are replenished, thus contributing to the prevention of cross infection from one patient to another.
