The post is based in one of our multidisciplinary Emotional and Behavioural Teams. We aim to deliver timely and comprehensive assessment and treatment service, offering goal-based episodes of care to children and young people and families. Alongside individual casework there are a range of groups such as DBT, NVR parenting and Behaviour Management for parents of children with Neurodevelopmental Difficulties. There are opportunities to have consultations from colleagues to support casework (such as Trauma, Psychotherapy consultations). We also have well established People Participation groups for parents and young people. The service embraces continual improvement and the staff and management team have a high degree of enthusiasm for quality improvement.

Education/Qualification/Training
Essential
- Postgraduate Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology (or equivalent), Systemic Family Therapy (or equivalent), or a qualification as a Community Mental Health Nurse (CMHN) or Psychological Therapist, with registration with the HCPC, UKCP, BACP, BABCP, NMC, or another relevant professional body
Desirable
- Master's level post registration training in child & adolescent or adult mental health
- Non-Violent Resistance parenting qualification
- DBT training

Essential
- Significant experience of working in CAMHS/Adult Mental Health Service settings
- Experience of working with a wide range of CAMHS presentations
- Experience of facilitating group therapy in CAMHS
- Experience of care and safety/risk management planning & treatment
- Experience of working in a culturally diverse Inner-city area
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary way
- Experience in crisis work
- Experience of the assessment/ treatment and management of YP with complex mental disorders
- Experience of working with YP out of School/Education
- Experience of working collaboratively with Children Services and other agencies
- Experience of managing/ supervising and providing appropriate Teaching & Training for supervisees in Mental Health services
- Experience of working collaboratively with new referrals/ front door services
Desirable
- Coordination and facilitation of therapeutic group delivery
- Leading in pathways in CAMHS/AMH services
- Leading/ working collaboratively with front door services
- Senior role in established pathways in CAMHS/AMH services
- Experience of consultation/Lead role in Conduct & Emotional behavioural pathways
- NVR trained
- Systemic work with parents, families, carers
- Experiences of Home treatment Team delivery for young people
- Experiences of early intervention/ prevention work in Mental health for young people/adults
- Experience of facilitating Group work for Yong people i.e., DBT
- Experience of facilitating parent/carer group work, systemic work to the parents/carers of YP in CAMHS
- Experience of leading and support in the delivery of Crisis/DBT/ Conduct pathways in CAMHS services
- Experience of working with young people/adults with substance misuse

Essential
- Evidence of well-developed clinical skills and knowledge in CAMHS/AMHS
- Skilled in emergency and crisis assessments
- Specialist clinical skills within in specific therapeutic modalities e.g., CBT
- Ability to work in a high-pressured environment and manage competing demands
- Highly developed, appropriate, and transparent communication skills with both internal and external colleagues
- Able to manage own time and caseload
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Able to work effectively across organisational boundaries
- Basic computer skills e.g., RiO, COMMIT and Excel
- Experience of managing a team Including supervision, Training, formulating health rosters

- Evidence of ability to lead, support and influence others
- Teaching skills, both in clinical setting and education centres
- Knowledge and experience of service needs, needs of young people in the local area and experience of transformation pathways
- Knowledge and experience of meeting service needs & demands
- Working collaboratively with Commissioning bodies and other agencies involved in the service delivery

Essential
- A high degree of self-awareness and an ability to reflect on personal and professional attitudes and accept feedback
- Awareness of current national guidelines and policies in the field of CAMHS, including Child Protection Guidelines
- Knowledge of The Mental Health Act 1983 and Children's Act
- Knowledge of specific inner-city issues which impact on care delivery
- Knowledge of standard setting and quality assurance

- Knowledge of development in inter agency partnership
- In-depth knowledge and current of CAMHS issues including assessment and interventions
- An awareness of different research methods
