Do you want to work in a transforming service that is committed to increasing and improving the Health Visiting offer in York? Do you seek a fulfillin...

York is a great place to live and work and is well above the national average in health, wellbeing and happiness. However, we know that isnt the case for everybody and that is where our 0-19 Healthy Child Service comes in.

The Healthy Child Service Team Leader plays a crucial role in facilitating the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme through effective leadership and development of their team. The Team Leader works collaboratively with the other HCS Team Leaders across 0-19 work programmes to ensure consistent and high-quality service delivery across the city of York. The Team Leader role is integral to the success of embedding the 0-19 delivery model.

The post holder will provide the foundations for the work environment and ethos required for their team to function and deliver services effectively through innovative, flexible and child-focussed leadership. Identification of support, training needs and professional development of staff is an essential element of the role to ensure a quality service and to support staff wellbeing and retention.

This role is an intrinsic part of the Healthy Child Service leadership team and will report on a day-to-day basis to the HCS Operational and Quality Manager to ensure professional development and service delivery are clearly linked to population health and public health priorities.

The Team Leader will take a lead role in areas of responsibility to ensure the smooth delivery of the service and service improvements in collaboration with the other HCS Team Leaders.

The post holder will support the team in identification of vulnerable children and young people and participation in multi-agency safeguarding procedures as appropriate to ensure children, young people and their families get appropriate help, support and safeguarding. They will work collaboratively with the Lead Nurse for Safeguarding, Practice Educator and key Public Health Specialists to facilitate staff and service development to improve health outcomes for children.

Not only do we offer excellent support, training and development opportunities but also corporate membership with Institute of Health Visiting (IHV), a growing range of discounts, rewards and savings, Pension Scheme, comprehensive Health & Wellbeing initiatives and a reward package which recognises your contribution.

If you are an innovative and forward looking individual with a passion for delivering good outcomes and ready to make a real difference please click apply, we would love to receive your application.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C2: Can express themselves spontaneously at length with a natural conversational flow, avoiding or backtracking around any difficulty so smoothly that the person with whom they are conversing is hardly aware of it.

Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.

This post is suitable as a job share opportunity.

City of York Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all employees and volunteers to share this commitment. We require the successful candidate to undertake an enhanced Criminal Record check via the Disclosure and Barring Service.

We can offer flexible working practices, community engagement and volunteer activities and, as part of our commitment to you, promote continuous Learning & Development.
