Our values, standards and behaviours define the quality of clinical care we offer and the professional relationships we make with our patients, colleagues and the wider community.

We call this Delivering Compassionate Excellence and its focus is on our values of compassion, respect, learning, delivery, improvement and excellence.

These values put patients at the heart of what we do and underpin the quality healthcare we would like for ourselves or a member of our family. Watch how we set out to deliver compassionate excellence via the OUH YouTube channel.

Having a confident, outgoing, kind personality with the energy and commitment to providing great quality care, you will interact well with patients and colleagues helping the service to run smoothly and our patients to have a positive experience of their time with us having been treated with respect, dignity and compassion.

In return, we will offer you training and development in order that you can deliver skills such as taking bloods, assessing patient's vision and instilling eye drops.

To be considered for this post we just ask that you have some experience in a healthcare role, communicate well, have a positive, 'can-do' attitude and can demonstrate a real passion for the work we do. If you have never thought about working 'in eyes' before, you will be amazed how interesting the specialty is and don't worry; we will give you a comprehensive induction and you will soon be amazed at how fast your knowledge and skills grow.

Our working hours are a mix of several shift patterns, including but not limited to, 7:30am/8am to 6:00pm/6:30pm (or later finish, depending on Departmental needs) Monday to Sunday.

We also, often run extra clinics at weekends so there is opportunity to work NHSP too. Driving your own car would be an advantage (but not mandatory) to this position as we do require cover in our community clinics locations throughout the week. We look forward to receiving your application!
