You will be joining a team of dedicated professionals who you will learn from on the job, we provide training to ensure you have the skills for the role and offer development opportunities to realise your career potential. You will be enrolled onto a healthcare support worker induction programme held each month, ensuring you feel supported as you take the first steps into your new career.

Our department operates from 08.00-18.00 Monday to Friday

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS

Desirable

  • Level 2 or Level 3 (NVQ) in health and Social Care or equivalent relevant experience
  • Willing to work towards Level 2 functional skills (Math & English
  • Care Certificate/working towards

EXPERIENCE

Essential: - Experience of working with people, ideally in a front-line customer service role.

Desirable: - Experience of providing person centred care.

SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE

Essential

  • An understanding of the importance of patient confidentially and privacy.
  • Recognise how patients and colleagues need to be treated with dignity and respect and can demonstrate these behaviours in their daily work.
  • Good verbal and written English communication skills.
  • The ability to respond with kindness and humanity to patients.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach with the aptitude to work in a busy hospital healthcare setting.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety with an awareness of the importance of following Trust policies and procedures.

SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES

Essential: - Ability to work agreed shift patterns designed to meet service needs.; - Can demonstrate self-motivation and ability to motivate others

Desirable: - Demonstrates some insight into the fundamentals and complexity of care and care delivery
