- Role: Healthcare Assistant / Support Worker
- Location: Portsmouth
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
- Contract: Temporary (anticipated through to Christmas, although this may be subject to change)
- Positions Available: 2
- Daily Rate: £100 - £130 per day (dependent on experience)
We are currently recruiting for two compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistants / Support staff to join a highly regarded specialist SEN school in Portsmouth on a temporary basis.
You will provide essential care and support to pupils aged 4 to 19 years across a range of classrooms and settings throughout the school. Working alongside teaching and healthcare professionals, you'll help ensure students are safe, engaged and fully supported throughout their day.
- Supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities
- Assisting with personal care routines
- Manual handling and moving & positioning where required
- Supporting students during mealtimes
- Oral and tube feeding support
- Encouraging communication, independence and participation
- Working flexibly across different age groups and departments within the school
- Caring, patient and resilient
- Comfortable supporting children and young people with complex needs
- Experienced in personal care and manual handling, or willing to undertake training
- Reliable and available to work five days per week
- Confident working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Previous experience within an SEN school
- Healthcare Assistant, Support Worker or Care Assistant experience
- Experience supporting individuals with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), autism and physical disabilities
