  • Assist qualified nursing staff, as directed by the Nurse in charge and ascertain treatments to be carried out.
  • Report on general condition / appearance of patients to the Senior Nurse on duty. Maintain personal contact with patients through conversation and during treatments.
  • Maintain high standards of quality patient care and staff morale by personal example, good conduct and appearance. Participating in quality initiatives at Ward and departmental level. Attend Ward/departmental meetings and study lectures/training as required.
  • Maintain good standards of Department housekeeping under the direction of the Ward Sister.
  • To make Senior Sister aware of any problems/worries relating to sphere/area of work.

Qualifications

Essential: - Good general education/ Literacy & Numeracy or willing to work towards obtaining; - Willing to undertake the National Care Certificate training programme

Desirable: - Willing to undertake the National Care Certificate training programme; - Care Certificate

Experience

Essential: - Experience of caring for patients

Desirable: - Experience working in a healthcare setting.
