A Healthcare Assistant is responsible for helping patients with their daily needs whilst ensuring they are comfortable, safe and treated with dignity ...

Assisting patients with personal care, including washing, dressing and toileting.

Helping patients with eating, drinking and mobility.

Supporting patients with emotional and social needs.

Assisting nurses and other healthcare professional with patient care and clinical procedures.

Maintaining accurate patient records.

Reporting and changes in patients condition.

Keeping patient areas clean, tidy and well stocked.

Following infection prevention and control procedures.

Promoting dignity, privacy and independence.

Adhering to health and safety policies and safeguarding procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Willingness & ability to undertake NVQ Level 3 in care if required

Desirable

  • NVQ Level 3 in care

EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Experience of working within a team

Desirable

  • Experience as a Healthcare Assistant

SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES

Essential

  • Ability to communicate in a variety of settings with patients of varying levels of understanding.

Desirable

  • Ability to perform ECGs
