Care Assistant (Private Family Role) Location: Swindon Hours: Initially 10-12 hours per week (with flexibility) Rate of Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience About the Role We are looking for a compassionate, reliable and experienced Care Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a lady living with Parkinson's disease and dementia within her own home. This is a private family position where the emphasis is on providing dignified, person-centred care that enables independence, comfort and quality of life. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys building relationships and can become a trusted part of the family's support network. Initially, the role will involve around 10-12 flexible hours per week, with the potential for additional hours over time as needs develop. Key Responsibilities Your role will include:

Providing personal care and assisting with daily hygiene routines while always maintaining dignity and respect.Supporting mobility and encouraging gentle movement to help maintain strength, confidence and independence.Promoting hydration and nutrition throughout visits.Encouraging participation in daily activities and general wellbeing.Providing companionship and meaningful conversation.Monitoring general health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns to the family.Supporting medication reminders where appropriate.Assisting with light household tasks that directly support day-to-day wellbeing.Helping maintain a calm, safe and positive home environment.Working closely with the family to ensure consistent, person-centred care. About You The successful applicant will have:

Previous professional experience supporting individuals living with Parkinson's disease and/or dementia.A caring, patient and empathetic nature.The ability to adapt to changing needs and routines.Excellent communication skills.A calm and reassuring approach.The ability to work independently and use initiative.A full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle.A satisfactory Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).Relevant care qualifications are desirable, but experience and the right attitude are equally important.
