As a Head of Housekeeping at a Barchester care home, you'll help to create warm and homely surroundings that are crucial in delivering quality care and support. You'll lead a team of housekeeping staff, taking a hands-on approach and actively participating in the day-to-day cleaning of the home. You'll lead by example, upholding high standards consistently across your team. Your responsibility will include maintaining every room and living space to the highest standard. The role requires excellent attention to detail, and you'll also need to motivate and inspire your team to perform at their best. In essence, you'll be key in making the care home a shining example of a high-quality care environment. Experience in housekeeping within care homes, hospitals, or hotels is very advantageous. Proven ability to lead and inspire a team while participating in daily cleaning activities is essential. A caring nature and good communication skills are important as you'll interact with staff, residents, and their relatives.

Leading a team of housekeeping staff, you'll be expected to take a hands-on approach and actively participate in the day-to-day cleaning of the home. You will lead by example, demonstrating the high standards expected and ensuring these are consistently upheld across the team. The Head of Housekeeping role demands excellent attention to detail, but we will also rely on you to motivate and inspire your team to perform at their best. Experience of housekeeping in a care home, hospital or hotel environment will be very advantageous for the role of Head of Housekeeping. We'll also look for a proven ability to lead and inspire a team and be able to actively participate in the day-to-day cleaning of the home alongside the housekeeping staff. A caring nature and good communication skills are important as you'll often come into contact with other members of staff, residents and their relatives.
