A rare opportunity for an experienced healthcare bid leader to shape the future growth of a major provider of community-based healthcare services. Leading a national bid function, you will drive winning strategies for complex NHS and public sector contracts, develop a high-performing team, and ensure compelling submissions that demonstrate clinical excellence, innovation and value for commissioners
Our client is a leading provider of community healthcare and support services, delivering essential care solutions that enable people to live independently and improve their quality of life. Working in partnership with NHS organisations, Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), local authorities and other health and social care stakeholders, the organisation combines clinical expertise, operational excellence and technology-enabled services to support positive outcomes for patients and communities.
The business is undergoing significant growth and investment, creating an opportunity for a strategic bid leader to play a key role in securing future contracts and expanding service delivery across the UK
Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will provide strategic leadership for the bid management function and play a pivotal role in securing high-value NHS, healthcare and public sector contracts.
This is far more than a bid management role. You will work alongside commercial, operational, clinical and executive leaders to shape innovative service solutions that improve patient outcomes, reduce pressures on healthcare systems and deliver measurable value for commissioners.
- Leading the development of winning bid strategies for complex healthcare opportunities, often involving multi-million-pound commissioned services.
- Partnering with senior clinical and operational stakeholders to translate service excellence into compelling proposals.
- Driving bid governance, quality assurance and best-practice processes across the organisation.
- Building and developing a high-performing bid team focused on continuous improvement and delivery excellence.
- Enhancing bid capability through the adoption of AI, digital tools and knowledge management frameworks.
- Leading executive reviews, decision gateways and strategic pursuit planning for priority opportunities.
- Using market intelligence, performance data and lessons learned to continually improve bid quality, conversion rates and contract win performance.
Profile
You will be an experienced bid professional with a successful track record of securing complex healthcare, NHS or public sector contracts and leading teams in high-performing bid environments.
- Significant experience leading complex healthcare, NHS, social care or outsourced public service bids.
- A strong understanding of NHS commissioning, public procurement and competitive tender processes.
- Experience developing compelling value propositions that resonate with commissioners, clinicians and operational stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing bid teams.
- Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking capabilities.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to influence senior executives and clinical leaders.
- Experience introducing innovative approaches, including AI and digital technologies, to improve bid quality and efficiency.
- Outstanding communication, writing and storytelling skills.
An APMP qualification or equivalent would be advantageous. Experience within community healthcare, clinical services, integrated care pathways, assistive technology, domiciliary services or wider healthcare commissioning environments would be particularly attractive
- Salary up to £85,000 DOE
- Car allowance
- Comprehensive benefits package
- Opportunity to shape and modernise a national bid function
- Significant executive exposure and strategic influence
- Career-defining leadership role within a growing organisation
- Opportunity to champion AI and digital transformation across the bid lifecycle
