We are looking for a receptionist to join our team for 31 hours a week: The successful candidate will be required to be flexible with hours between 7a...

To support the practice clinical team by signposting patients to

the appropriate healthcare professional or service, working as part of the

practices multidisciplinary team.

The receptonist will also be expected to undertake reception

duties as part of the role, supporting the administrative team in delivering a polite and professional service to the entitled patient population.

The

following are the core responsibilities of the Receptionist.There may be, on

occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent on

Factors such as workload and staffing levels

  • a.

Process

and effectively signpost patients to the appropriate healthcare professional

depending on the presenting condition

  • b.

Answer

incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers requests

appropriately

  • c.

Process

patient requests for appointments

  • d.

Process

repeat prescription requests via prescription clerk

  • e.

Initiate

contact with and respond to requests from patients, team members and external

agencies

  • f.

Enter

read/SNOMED CT code data on EMIS Web

  • g.

Photocopy

documentation as required

  • h.

Data

entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as

required

  • i.

Input

data into the patients healthcare records as necessary

  • j.

Direct

requests for information, e.g., SAR, insurance/solicitors letters and DVLA

forms, to the administrative team

  • k.

Manage

all queries as necessary in an efficient manner

  • l.

Maintain

a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times

  • m.

Monitor

and maintain the reception area and noticeboards

  • n.

Support

all clinical staff with general tasks as requested

  • o.

Undertake

all mandatory training and induction programmes

We have a large team of clinical and non-clinical staff including:

GP Team

  • 6 GP Partners
  • 1 Trainee Doctors

Nursing Team

  • 2 Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioners
  • An Assistant Practitioner
  • 1 Trainee Nurse Associate
  • 2 Healthcare Assistants
  • 2 Nurse Associates

Pharmacy Team

  • A Practice Pharmacist
  • A Pharmacy Technician
  • A Prescribing Clerk

Management Team

  • Practice Manager
  • Operations Manager

As well as a large Practice Team we also have an extensive Tame Valley PCN Team.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working with the public

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to GCSE or equivalent

Desirable

  • Active Signposting or Care Navigator Training Qualification
  • Healthcare Qualification (level 2) or working towards gaining equivalent level
  • Customer service qualification (NVQ) or equivalent
