This is a rewarding opportunity to step into a leadership role while remaining connected to frontline practice. As a Consultant Social Worker, you will lead a hub of up to five Frontline participants undertaking their Postgraduate Diploma in Social Work, supporting them throughout their practice learning journey.
You will provide supervision, coaching and assessment, model excellent social work practice, and create a learning environment where participants can develop the confidence, knowledge and skills needed to become exceptional practitioners. At the same time, you will retain oversight and accountability for the children and families assigned to your hub, ensuring high-quality practice and positive outcomes.
- Leading and managing a hub of Frontline social work participants.
- Providing regular reflective supervision, coaching and support.
- Acting as the named case holder for families allocated to the hub and maintaining oversight of practice and decision-making.
- Supporting participants to apply theory to practice and develop their skills through direct work with children and families.
- Assessing participant progress and completing practice education requirements.
- Promoting strengths-based, relationship-led and trauma-informed practice.
- Working collaboratively with Frontline Practice Tutors and colleagues across Children's Services.
- Modelling excellent social work practice and supporting future workforce development.
We are looking for an experienced Social Worker who:
- Is registered with Social Work England.
- Has substantial experience of working with children, young people and families.
- Is passionate about developing others and supporting learning.
- Demonstrates excellent assessment, analytical and decision-making skills.
- Has experience of supervision, mentoring, coaching or supporting colleagues in practice.
- Can build strong relationships and inspire confidence in others.
- Is committed to delivering outstanding outcomes for children and families.
- Develop your leadership and management skills while remaining in practice.
- Gain valuable experience as a Practice Educator.
- Influence and shape social work practice across the organisation.
- Work alongside Frontline and contribute to the development of future social workers.
- Access ongoing learning, development and support opportunities.
- Join a supportive and ambitious Children's Services workforce committed to achieving positive outcomes for children and families.
