As Fire & Security Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring a safe, secure, and compliant environment across UHDB's hospital sites. Providing strategic leadership and expert advice, you will lead the Trust's approach to fire safety and physical security, helping to protect our patients, staff, visitors, and assets.

Acting as the Trust's senior specialist advisor on all fire and security matters, you will work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to develop, implement, and monitor effective fire safety systems, policies, and procedures. You will provide assurance that statutory requirements, NHS guidance, and industry best practice are consistently met while fostering a strong culture of safety and risk awareness.

The role includes full accountability for contracted-out security services, ensuring effective contract management, performance monitoring, and delivery of high-quality, responsive, and value-for-money services.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Fire Safety, Security Management, or related discipline
  • Management qualification (e.g. ILM Level 5/7, postgraduate qualification) or equivalent experience
  • NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate (or equivalent)

Desirable

  • NEBOSH General Certificate

Experience

Essential

  • Experience working with HTMs and NHS Fire code
  • Experience in a large, complex organisation (preferably NHS or public sector)

Additional

Essential

  • Full drivers licence and access to a vehicle to travel to all 5 sites
