Female Support Worker - Learning Disabilities & Neurodiversity

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a care provider in the North East. They are seeking a compassionate, resilient, and proactive Female Support Worker to join a dedicated team supporting a female service user with neurodivergent needs in the Sunderland area.

Gender Requirement: This post is open to female applicants only. This is a Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR) under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010, as the role involves providing personal care and one-to-one support for a female service user.

Providing personalised, person-centred care and support in line with individual care plans.

Assisting with personal care, daily living activities, household duties, and community access.

Utilising proactive strategies to support sensory needs, anxiety, and neurodivergent behaviours.

Promoting choice, dignity, and independence at all times.

Maintaining accurate logs, shift records, and clear handovers.

Experience: Minimum of 6 months' recent UK care/support work experience within the last 2 years.

Specialist Knowledge: A strong, practical understanding of Autism (ASD) and ADHD.

Right to Work: Proof of Right to Work in the UK (Sponsorship cannot be provided).

Flexibility: Willingness to work a flexible rota covering both day and night shifts.

Desirable Requirements

Driving: Full UK Driving Licence with access to a car is highly preferred to facilitate community outings.

Competitive Pay: £15.35 - £17.48 per hour (shift dependent).

Enhanced Holiday Pay: Double time paid on Bank Holidays.
